Rare Surgery Performed Successfully At Royal Hospital

MUSCAT: A medical team from The Department of Paediatric Surgery performed a remarkably rare procedure in which an embryo was safely extricated from the body of an eight-month-old fetus.
This extremely delicate procedure was conducted by the Head of Department – Dr. Mohammed Al Sajwani and his team of three pediatric surgeons – Dr.Saeed Bani Oraba, Dr.Mahmood Ibrahim and Dr.Mahmood Hamed.
The doctors were ably supported by a team of nurses and anesthetists in the hospital.
Commenting on the state of the patient, the Ministry of Health commented: “The patient’s post-surgery examinations and vital signs showed success, and the patient was discharged after three days.”
