WEDDING TOURISM: Oman To Target Indian Market For Destination Weddings

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is organizing a five-city campaign campaign in India starting in New Delhi on Monday, focusing on promoting Oman as an attractive destination for wedding tourism.

According to the ministry, India is an important source market with a large number of tourists visiting the Sultanate. The number of Indian visitors in July 2022 was 36,087, the highest in the last ten years. The tourism footfall from January to July stands at 167,678  the ministry said.

Apart from New Delhi, road shows, which will include workshops, will be held in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai and will conclude in Bengaluru on August 29th.

The workshops will see the presence of a delegation from the ministry, Omani tourism companies, hotels and airlines.

The aim of the ministry is to highlight Oman’s remarkable tourism experiences, in addition to promoting other tourist routes, including wedding tours, conferences and exhibitions.

Asma bint Salim Al Hajri, Assistant Director General of Tourism Promotion at the Directorate General of Tourism Promotion, Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said, “India is a very important tourism market for Oman. The Sultanate, as a tourist destination, arouses keen interest of Indian tourists as it suits all their needs and interests.”
