Invisible Sculpture Sold For USD 18,000 By Italian Artist

Italian artist, Salvatore Garau reportedly sold an “invisible sculpture” for USD 18,000 (approx. GBP 13,000) at an auction.

According to Italy24News, the sculpture “Io sono” (Italian for “I am”) must be displayed in a private room away from any obstruction. It also needs to be kept in an area that is about 5 ft long and 5 ft wide while, lighting and environment control are optional due to the fact that no one can see the work.

The artist has attracted much criticism in the days since his successful auction but, he has defended himself by claiming that, the sculpture is more like a “vacuum” rather than being non – existent or immaterial.
