Muscat: The Supreme Committee tasked with dealing with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has issued a decision to ban all kinds of group events.
The decision comes following a spike in the number of Coronavirus cases in the country, and as a part of their efforts to control the spread of the disease.
In a statement to the public, the Supreme Committee said: “In the process of finding a mechanism to deal with the developments resulting from the spread of the virus, starting from tomorrow [Thursday, January 27] and until further notice, all group events – irrespective of their nature – will be banned.”

As per the revealed details, the Committee has banned international and local events, activities, conferences, exhibitions, and sporting activities of any kind.
The governing body also took the decision to postpone the opening of classes in colleges and universities, and the use of the blended education system in public schools.
