BREAKING: Movement Ban In Oman To End On April 8; Night Closure Of Commercial Activities To Continue

Muscat: The Supreme Committee tasked with tackling the Coronavirus has decided to lift the movement ban in Oman that was brought into effect on March 28, 2021.

The ban – which is currently from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am – will be lifted for the days leading up to the Holy Month of Ramadan, allowing citizens and expats to move freely. However, the movement of people will be restricted from 9:00 pm to 4:00 pm during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

As per the Committee’s decision, commercial activities will continue to remain during the time period shut until further notice.

Ramadan prayers in mosques will not be permitted, while gatherings for iftars and suhoors will be banned in places of worship, majlises, large-scale halls, and in people’s homes.

Social activities, including cultural events, and sports matches and tournaments, are also not permitted during this time.

It was also announced that citizens of Oman can only arrive through airports, while entry to the country will only be permitted for citizens and resident cardholders.
