Oman Ranked 3rd Best Among Arab Countries In Cyber Security

Muscat: According to the cybersecurity Index 2020 report released by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Oman has been ranked 3rd best in the field of cybersecurity amongst Arab Nations and 21st globally, out of 193 countries.

The Ministry of Transport, Communications & Information Technology (MTCIT) said in a statement, “The Sultanate came third in the Arab world and 21st in the world out of 193 countries within Global Cybersecurity Index 2020 Report announced by the International Federation for communications.”

The reports showed that Europe has performed well in matters related to online child protection, with 89% of the countries having fully implemented online child protection-related laws. In addition, 101 reporting mechanisms were recorded globally, including hotlines, websites, e-mail addresses, and social media. 81 countries shared their online child protection strategies and broader initiatives.
