Oman Records 15 New Cases of Omicron: COVID-19 Supreme Committee

As part of its ongoing convening, the Supreme Committee tasked with tackling developments resulting from Coronavirus (COVID-19) held a session during which it followed up updates about coronavirus, ways to protect society against it, and means of curbing the spread of the disease and addressing its different impacts.

The Supreme Committee reportedly studied data issued by the Ministry of Health, before reporting that there were 15 new cases of infection with COVID-19’s latest mutant, ‘Omicron’ in Oman.

The new cases are currently under epidemiological investigation.

The Supreme Committee has urged all members of the society to exercise caution and comply with all precautionary measures; namely, to wear face masks indoors, maintain physical distancing, avoid all crowded areas and keep the hands clean.

The Supreme Committee exhorted all people aged 18 years and above to go for a third booster dose of COVID-19 vaccines available at primary healthcare establishments.
