Jusoor Foundation celebrated the launch of four groundbreaking projects to the tune of RO345,000 implemented within its social investment programme in the Governorate of North Al Batinah.
The projects were funded jointly by OQ and Sohar Aluminium.
The ceremony was held in Al Qurm Natural Park in Shinas, under the auspices of Sayyid Khalifa Al Mardas Al Busaidi, the Secretary-General for Governorates Affairs at the Ministry of Interior.
The event was attended by Sheikh Saif Hamiyar Al Malik Al Shehhi, the Governor of North Al Batinah and Chairman of Jusoor Foundation’s Board of Directors.
The first project was the development of the 28,000-square-metre Al Qurm Natural Park in the Wilayat of Shinas with a total cost of RO200,000 funded by Sohar Aluminium and OQ, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior.
The development included the implementation of a 3kms walkway, an arena theatre, a migratory bird viewing platform, 11 family rest areas, barbecue sites, an overbridge along the waterway, a game area, green fields, and a cafe.
It also included the establishment of a park gate, mosque, security booth, toilets, and parking lot.
The second project was the construction of a park in the mountainous area of Al Hayleen in the Wilayat of A’Suwaiq on an area of 2,000 square metres that is surrounded by a 320m walkway.
The park is equipped with children rides, as well as a cafe, toilets, and family rest areas, to the tune of RO55,000 funded by Sohar Aluminium.
The third project was to provide equipment to clean beaches in the Wilayats of the Governorate. This project, with a total cost of RO40,000, was funded by OQ.
In addition to that, the supply and installation of 60 recreational rides for public parks in the Wilayat of Sohar at a total cost of RO50,000 was funded by OQ.
Sheikh Saif Hamiyar Al Shehhi, the Governor of North Al Batinah, said: “These projects fall within the programme of social projects implemented by Jusoor Foundation that contributes to cultural development.”
Sheikh Saif also pointed out that the Board of Directors of Jusoor Foundation takes into account that the projects are sustainable and benefit the public.
“Jusoor Foundation continues to implement other projects as per an annual action plan, which demonstrated its positive role in the Wilayats of the Governorate of North Al Batinah,” he added.
Meanwhile, Al Mutasim Said Al Sariri, a member of the Board of Directors of Jusoor Foundation and representative of OQ, said: “These social projects reflect the extent of the real partnership between the government and the private sectors and proves the achievement of social responsibility.
“OQ is constantly working to continuously contribute to sustainable development projects, especially those that meet the aspirations of the community, whether through projects implemented by Jusoor Foundation, projects implemented by OQ directly, or those carried out in partnership with some government institutions.”
