Draupadi Murmu Becomes India’s 15th President In Historic Election Win

New Delhi: NDA’s candidate Draupadi Murmu on Thursday has won the presidential election defeating opposition’s Yashwant Sinha. With this Murmu has become the first tribal person to be the president of India.

Murmu has crossed the 50% mark of total valid votes at the end of the third round of counting and is likely to take oath on July 25 as incumbent President Ram Nath Kovind’s tenure ends on July 24.

For the third round, Draupadi Murmu got 812 votes, Yashwant Sinha 521 votes.
