Heritage meets performance

Mohamed El Zawawy, General Manager, Alfardan Motors shares his thoughts on the reasons for Ferrari’s success in the market. An OER interview

What attracts the Omani clientele to the Ferrari brand?

Excellence, heritage, prestige and track DNA. Ferrari expertly bridges the gap between the uniquely storied heritage of the Prancing Horse and the new world of cultural and technological hegemony which the region and Oman so acutely represents. Ferrari’s deluxe approach to bespoke automotive design is also key for the Sultanate and when combined with razor-sharp responsiveness, blistering performance, superbly powerful acceleration at all speeds and an exhilarating soundtrack known to all Ferraris, it is apparent that it is the Ferrari DNA which is at the heart of the appeal.

What are the most popular models in Oman?

Ferraris are not only timeless but unique and innovative. All our models are remarkable and specifically in Oman, the 488 GTB and 488 Spider, GTC4Lusso & GTC4Lusso T have been incredibly popular. We were also delighted by the response to the most recent launched the 812 Superfast, what always generates the most excitement and anticipation is the release of a new model, and 2018 marks the arrival of the Portofino the successor of California T.

What distinguishes the Omani buyer from others in the region?

The Omani clients are well educated and have true passion for the brand we carry. They seek excellence before, during and post purchase. This comes from our unique product offering, alongside our factory trained staff and certified workforce who always meet their requirements and expectations. In fact, I think they surpass them.

How can you describe the Omani market?

The perception of Ferrari in the Sultanate mirrors that of the rest of the region. The market has its unique target segment of discerning clients who demands excellence. They value individuality and flair as much as performance and drive a Ferrari for the experience, the thrill, the passion and the values of the heritage and innovation. They drive Ferraris for an ultimate driving experience accompanied with the brand’s style and performance. Therefore, the market witnesses constant growth in demand, thanks to Ferrari’s most comprehensive model line-up along with its maintenance programs – which guarantee the best residual values.

What after sales services does Alfardan Motors offer to its clients?

Customer’s satisfaction is our top priority since the beginning of Ferrari’s time; therefore several years back Ferrari introduced the three years warranty and seven year maintenance programme on all models. Our value clients enjoy driving their Ferraris without any concerns as we, at Ferrari, are taking care of their cars. On top of that and what lots of people are not aware of, when we receive any Ferrari car for a check-up or maintenance service, the whole process is in direct connection with the factory team in Maranello to assist the technicians on ground with every step through and to make sure each customer receives the best service with no doubt.

Can you share details on the pre-owned programme from Ferrari?

Our pre-owned programme makes owning a Ferrari more affordable and accessible to Ferrari enthusiasts. What sets our pre-owned program a part from other pre-owned cars is its strict system which contains a long list of 190 check points that each car should meet in order to be considered. Some of the pre-owned cars when being re-sold again come with factory warranty and service contracts for specific period depending on the model and year of the car, which always provides a relief to our pre-owned buyers and customers.

With that in mind, have you noticed growth in the demand for Ferrari cars in Oman?

Ferrari continues to experience unprecedented growth because of the exclusivity of the brand and its reputation of quality, luxury and performance. As a leader in both the sports car and road car segments, Ferrari, with its comprehensive model line-up, programs and wealth of history and heritage, is in a strong position in the Omani market.
