Integrated services

Oman Oil Marketing Company celebrated 15 years of its successful operations in Oman and looks forward to creating more fully integrated service hubs across the globe

Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO) currently holds a 39 per cent market share in Oman and has recently expanded its footprint across international markets including Saudi Arabia and Tanzania. In 2018 alone, the company opened its 200th service station in Oman and became the first fuel marketer to introduce Ultimax, the only 98 Octane fuel in the country. It plans to site four mobile service stations across Al Batinah Expressway to meet the demand for fuel in nearby areas and ensure access to fuel for all motorists. The company was also the first to launch a service station to be powered by solar panels connected directly to the electricity network, and installed an electric vehicle charger (EV) at its Mazoon Street service station.

A 20-year investment agreement signed with Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) saw the launch of the Sultanate’s first MEGA service station. The fully integrated service hub on the campus is set to open this year, providing access to shops, food products and other complementary services. As a homegrown company, OOMCO has achieved an Omanisation rate of 83 per cent and will continue to recruit local talent across all operations.

In a bid to expand its global footprint, OOMCO also opened a 40,000 square meter MEGA service station in Saudi Arabia. The facility comprises cafes, rest areas and automated car washes.

Going beyond pump

OOMCO’s aim is to be among the top five fuel marketers in the GCC by 2025. With its forward-thinking strategy, it strives to transform the industry with the introduction of innovative products and services across all aspects of the business, both locally and internationally. Going beyond the pump, OOMCO is building a brand that provides much more than only fuel, creating an unparallel chain of service hubs that provide access to integrated offerings including quality shopping, food products and services.
