OMR1.5bn fibreglass factory to come up in Khazaen Economic city

Khazaen attracts investment

Oman’s National Fibre Glass Factory (NFF) will be investing OMR1.5mn to build a new manufacturing plant in Khazaen Economic city, according to an announcement made recently.

The first phase of the construction will see NFF invest RO500,000, with completion in next 18 months.

According to Khazaen, the master developer of the new 52mn sqm integrated economic project in Barka, the new fibreglass manufacturing facilities will produce a new line-up of products to cater to the ever-growing demand for glass-reinforced plastics used in commercial and residential construction across the sultanate. The new line-up will include high-quality, swimming pool products durable, easy to use, and flexible in design and size.

Khalid Awadh al Balushi, CEO of Khazaen, spoke about Khazaen’s success with the increasing number of tenants and investors it has been attracting. “It reflects how leading businesses want to have a broad range of logistics and support facilities in close proximity to maximise efficiency, growth potential and economic value creation, he said and added, “Alongside other businesses who choose to be located in Khazaen, NFF will also benefit from the prime geographical location of the economic city, close to domestic, regional, and international markets.”

Speaking about NFF’s expansion, Haidar bin Mohammed al Lawati, executive director of NFF, affirmed their faith in Khazaen as the ideal location in fuelling company’s future plans and said, “NFF has been a leading manufacturer of glass-reinforced plastics and glass-reinforced concrete in Oman since 1992. We will be growing and evolving our operations through our new facility in Khazaen.”
